Mental health affects all of us: Mental health and physical health are closely connected. Mental health plays a major role in people’s ability to maintain good physical health. Mental illnesses, such as depression and anxiety, affect people’s ability to participate in health-promoting behaviours. Try these tips to keep your balance, or re-balance yourself:⁣

1) Treat yourself with kindness and respect, and avoid self-criticism. Make time for your hobbies and favourite projects, or broaden your horizons.⁣

2) Learn how to deal with stress, remember to smile and see the humour in life. Research shows that laughter can boost your immune system, ease pain, relax your body and reduce stress.⁣

3) Get help when you need it: seeking help is a sign of strength — not a weakness.⁣
