Repost from our Creative Director @john_k_harrison
Part 3 ‘ Designing ‘. ‘ We think this is the best part, the freedom to explore the ideas we set out to do. To work into the detail, sketch , sketch and sketch. To draw up the shapes as figures, work the pattern and print, with scale and repeat. Select the appropriate cloth to style, to select the perfect embroidery. The design process is infinite and endless. Stopping is the hard bit sometimes. At GH the team hand draws the pieces and prepares the packs to go to the weavers, makers or printers to be realised. Mostly we try to be as accurate first time ,to minimise waste and cost. After this the collection is tightened and cadded up to form a line sheet and buying range. Part 4 will show this. With some single case studies. @ Gieves & Hawkes
