T-H-E B-I-G 4-0! My most visceral memory of someone turning 40 was my mom. I clearly remember her friends and all my aunts and uncles talking about being over the hill, this is it, welp-life is all downer from here. I thought to myself then, that that sounded awful. Turns out they were very wrong. I feel like I am just getting started and that I get to have the benefit of 40 years behind me of mistakes, wins, success and failures to make the next #40 that much better. I am happier now than I was in my 20’s and feel a stability in myself I longed for in my 30’s. If that is the gift of age, I like it. #HBD to anyone else out that shares this day with me.
