While filming the documentary Public Trust, producer Jeremy Hunter Rubingh took notes, eventually hoping to write about what he observed. What is hinted at in the film, but portrayed in detail in this piece, is the hard and often thankless work done by dedicated individuals to protect our public lands. This story is part thank-you note to those individuals and part love letter to our 640 million acres of shared land.
