Part 2 ‘ Seasonal inspiration ‘. ‘Secondly, as a design team ( Edward and Emily ) we begin to map out the boundaries for the collection. The colour theory, silhouette, details are all discussed and then mapped out on boards so we can refer back. The aim here is to keep some focus on the prints, or colour use, so when the collection is in store it is harmonious and co-ordinated The following slides give examples of the past seasons. Vintage items are used for details, or drafting of a hood or lapel shape. All this is then related to current trends and movements in menswear, colour, pattern, scale, matt or gloss, etc. Give or take 20% for re-assessment during the building of the collection, we begin to design into these inspirations , and will be shown in Part 3. @ Gieves & Hawkes
