On this day, 29 May 1953, Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary were first to successfully summit Mount Everest (8,848.86m), or “The Roof of the World,” in an extraordinary display of human achievement. Today, we celebrate their pioneering spirit and our ongoing commitment to preserving fragile mountains environments since Bally’s founding in 1851. Through our #BallyPeakOutlook Foundation and its #8x8000m pledge to clean up the base camps of the Himalayas’ eight 8,000-meter mountains, we hope to restore these landscapes to their pristine state.
